Gross!

Well, we JUST saw the biggest cockroach we've seen in our lives, and it was in our living room.  I think it was even bigger than one I saw on a mission trip to Mexico that I thought could never be outdone.  Typically we find them when they're already dead.  Apparently our landlord has the great setup where someone comes and sprays all around the outside of our house.  The second a roach...or anything else...gets in, they seem to immediately die.  All the ones we have found have been dead and right next to a wall.  We'll have to call our landlord and have the house re-sprayed because the one we saw tonight was definitely not dead.  But have no fear, Bret took it on - after we stared at it for about 10 minutes as it crept all around our floor.  He sprayed it with some lime-smelling bug killer that we found in our house when we moved in (who knows how toxic it is), and it was dead within a few more seconds.  Unbelievable.  Missionaries in Thailand we might be, but we're pretty wimpy when it comes to other "things" that live among us.

At least it wasn't a scorpion or poisonous centipede - there are those here, too.  Or a rat...although we do hear those in our ceiling on occasion - pretty much every night.

We really do live in a great place; this blog entry certainly doesn't give it justice.
