We've arrived!

Well - to say we've "done Thailand" is a bit of a stretch.  We just arrived on Thursday, July 28 and so far Thailand has been doing us!!

So far we've locked ourselves out of our home - but have no fear:  Bret scaled the side of our house (much like Spiderman) and went in our upstairs window, offended a shop keeper by pointing to a cute top with my foot (my hands were full!), and I'm sure butchered the tonal Thai language more times than we can count.

But other than that, I'd say we're getting used to things.  Tonight we're going to trek a little bit to a local pizza place called Coach's Pizza and Ribs.  The owner is a missionary who has been here for 20+ years working with a group of people near the border of Burma.  There are more missionaries stationed here in Chiang Mai than in any other city in the world, and they are all involved in incredible work.  We're excited to learn about them and hopefully get involved in some of the things God is doing from Chiang Mai in addition to working at Grace International School.

2 corrections to note:

1. Although the pool is very large, it is certainly not the largest in the world like we were made to believe. But it is open every day from 3-8 for people to swim.  Upon seeing the pool, Bret exclaimed, "I bet I can swing all the way across this thing under water."  I just smiled.

2. There are nearly a million people in Chiang Mai - quite the booming city. We've been telling people there are only 150,00 - whoops.  Apparently there are couple cities called "Chiang Mai."

That's all for now!
